Nashville Police Make Drug Arrest

An Ashdown man has been arrested on drug charges in Nashville. Police say 20 year old Jordan Cowling was the driver of a vehicle stopped on West Sypert Steet by officer Mackenzie Vermillion. Reports say as the officer approached the vehicle, he detected the strong odor of marijuana. While speaking with with Cowling, officer Vermillion said he found a water bottle containing liquid with a powder like substance. Police say Cowling told them he owned the bottle and the powder like substance was ectasy pills that he placed in the bottle when the traffic stop was made.

Cowling is being charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and is being held in the Howard County Jail.
