Nashville Receives State Hazard Mitigation Disaster Funds
Monday, Nashville officials were notified that Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson has signed a proclamation awarding the city Hazard Mitigation Disaster Funds in the amount of $150,000.
Hazard Mitigation Disaster Funds are used by the state to help mitigate the effects of future disasters.
Mayor Billy Ray Jones stated the funds will be used to restructure the spillway on Lake Nichols to help prevent future flooding.
City officials are scheduled to meet with representatives with ADEM in February to discuss the spillway project.
