Nashville resident arrested for terroristic threatening

On January 23, 2023, Lawrence Benson, age 26 of Nashville, was arrested for Terroristic Threatening 1^st Degree and Possession of Firearms by Certain Persons.  At approximately 10:30am, a call was received that Benson was armed with a gun and was making threats on South Front Street in Nashville.  Officer David Shelby responded to the call and was assisted by other city and county officers.  Officer Shelby seized a handgun from Benson at the scene.  Witnesses stated that Benson was threatening them with the weapon.  Benson was arrested and transported to the Howard County Jail.
