Nashville School Board approves policy changes
The Nashville School Board met Monday evening and board members voted to purchase floor machines. The machines will be purchased with federal grant funds.
Superintendent Doug Graham recommended the district use the $51,916 that they received in back to school COVID funds to purchase the floor machines. He said the district will purchase a stripping machine, a propane burnisher and 4 scrubbers, one for each campus. The board approved the bid from Myers Chemical in the amount of $64,257.89.
Board members also approved recommended changes to the district’s policy 2.1.1 concerning the district’s Emergency Response Team. They also approved a change to the district’s policy 4.51 concerning the district’s food service prepayment, meal charge and delinquent debt policy.
Graham explained the district provides meals to all students free of charge, so therefore the policy change will reflect the fact that the district doesn’t provide credit for a la carte items, or other food and beverage items that are available for purchase in the school food service areas.
Graham also spoke to the board about replacing the current lighting system at Scrapper Stadium with LED lights.
Graham said he was also gathering information concerning the construction of two tennis courts.
The next board meeting is scheduled for Monday, December 19.
