Nashville School Board approves renewal of contracts of AD and building principals
Monday, during the Nashville School Board’s regular monthly meeting, board members approved a motion to renew the contracts for James Bunch Nichols as the Transportation Director, Maintenance Director, and Athletic Director, Tate Gordon as the Assistant Superintendent, Ashley Riggs as High School Principal, Krysta Parker as Junior High Principal, Tyra Hughes as the Elementary Principal, Nathan Evans as Primary Principal, and Kim Slayton as Curriculum Coordinator.
The board also approved employment transfers which were Ashley Hale from Administrative Assistant to District Treasurer and Barbara Fuentes will be transferred from Primary Teacher to Primary LLC Para and the employment of Donald Beshears as Junior High Custodian.
There was motion made by Jerry Wilson and seconded by David Hilliard to accept the resignations of Junior High Social Studies Teacher Linda Stiver, Primary LLC Para Brittany Moore, District Treasurer Lesa Bell, Primary Nurse Allyson Chesshir, Junior High Band Director Keith Sanders, and High School Band Director Cody Ford. These resignations will be effective at the end of the 2023-2024 school year. All were in favor of the motion.
Superintendent Doug Graham made a recommendation to the board to accept the bid from Rush Trucking Enterprises in the amount of $142,700 for a new school bus. Graham said this will be paid out of the ESSR III funds. There was motion made by Jerry Wilson and seconded by David Hilliard to accept the bid from Rush Trucking as presented by Superintendent Graham. Graham also stated that he ordered a soil sample so he can get bids on the tennis courts. Graham concluded by reporting to the board that he plans on repairing the Junior High Bridge walkway. Graham stated that it is not in good condition, and he is waiting on bids so he can see what steps he needs to take on getting it repaired.
