Nashville School Board Extends Superintendent’s Contract, Approves New Hires, and Celebrates School Board Appreciation Month
During the Nashville School Board’s regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, several important decisions were made, including the extension of Superintendent Doug Graham’s contract, new staff appointments, and the celebration of School Board Appreciation Month.
The board unanimously approved a motion to extend Superintendent Graham’s contract for one more year, with the new contract set to end on June 30th, 2028. Additionally, the board approved the hiring of Kimberly Torres as an ESL Paraprofessional and Kristell Hernandez as Primary Secretary #2.
In a special presentation, Superintendent Graham took a moment to recognize the board members in honor of School Board Appreciation Month, presenting each member with a token of appreciation.
Graham also highlighted the in-service hours that each board member had accumulated in 2024, underscoring the importance of their professional development.
In his superintendent’s report, Graham updated the board on the district’s master plan. He announced that construction for the new tennis courts is now complete. Looking ahead, Graham expressed his desire to work on building restrooms on the visitor’s side at Scrapper Arena. He mentioned that this project would be discussed further in the coming months.
The meeting concluded with the board setting the date for the next meeting, which will be held on Monday, February 24, 2025, at 5:30 PM.
