Nashville School Board receives report on COVID-19 numbers in school district

The Nashville School District has seen an increase in the number of COVID-19 cases over the past couple of weeks. Officials say most of the cases experienced early in the school year were from the ABC program. However, the number of positive test results have also increased lately in Kindergarten through 12th grades. Elementary Principal Rick Rebsamen is serving as the district’s point of contact for COVID-19. He updated the school board Monday night on where the district stands with the virus:

Rebsamen said he is confident the district is doing a great job in keeping the students safe, and the Covid cases among students and staff is resulting from contact away from the school campuses:

Superintendent Doug Graham reported the district has 19.9 percent of its student population utilizing the virtual learning method so far. School personnel say that number may drop a little bit at the end of the first 9 weeks grading period. With those students participating in the virtual learning method, Graham pointed out that social distancing at school and on buses is being made a little easier, due to fewer students.
