Nashville School Board Renews Virtual Learning Option
Nashville School Board met in a special called meeting Friday afternoon. Superintendent, Doug Graham, recommended to the board the consideration of a virtual school plan for this upcoming school year. Graham said with the uncertainties of COVID it would be better to have one in place and ready as an option then needing to rush one in place in the middle of the year. This virtual option was approved by vote of board members with 4 in favor and none against. Graham said students that wish to participate in the virtual option may do so if they performed well virtually last year and are approved to do so via application process.
Graham also said that a student’s commitment to either virtual or in person will be a full semester commitment once selected. The program being used for virtual learning this year is by Edmentum which employs Arkansas certified teachers and is held to the same state standard that in person curriculums are.
