Nashville School District considering future construction projects
Monday evening, Nashville Superintendent Doug Graham informed the school board that he would like to hold a workshop to discuss four possible construction projects. The projects include a new bus barn, renovations to Futrell Field at the Nashville City Park, new tennis courts and lighting at Scrapper Stadium.
Graham reported the district has used 68 percent of its budget. However, Graham pointed out that the natural gas line item and the transportation fuel and oil line item would need to be adjusted. He said the district had used 102 percent of budget for natural gas and over 92 percent of its budget for fuel and oil with over 5 weeks remaining in the current school year.
The school board approved a recommendation to increase the district’s mileage reimbursement from .42 cents per mile to .55 cents per mile, to extend the current food service providers contract and to accept the current Ready for Learning plan with a few revisions.
Graham also reported there will be a benefit bass tournament on May 7th for the Agri Department.
