Nashville School District offering COVID vaccine to teachers and staff

January is school board appreciation month and all five of Nashville’s board members have received a certificate from Superintendent Doug Graham to honor them for their service. Graham reported at Tuesday’s board meeting that all five of his board have met their training requirements of six hours for this past year. David Hilliard and Jamar Finley each received six hours of training last year. Nick Britt had a total of 9 hours, Board President Jerry Wilson has 24 hours and Tem Gunter has received 32 and a half hours of board training.

The Nashville School District’s proposed 22/23 school year budget was accepted at this week’s school board meeting. The proposal calls for salary fund expenses of $8.15 million dollars, 4.8 million of instructional expenses, $1.78 million for maintenance and operation, and $1.05 million in transportation expenses. The proposal was created by Stephens Incorporated.
Superintendent Doug Graham reported Nashville teachers and staff are scheduled to receive their COVID-19 vaccinations today. Graham said only about half of the district’s personnel signed up to receive the shots.
Personnel receiving their vaccinations today will get the second dosage February 18th.
