Nashville Schools Looking To Build Fine Arts Center
State education officials have received an architect’s first drawing of the Nashville School District’s proposed fine arts center. Superintendent Doug Graham says the district now waits to see if the state is willing to pay a portion of the 10 million dollar project:
Graham says it could take up to 10 months before a decision is made by the state. The building would be over 20 thousand square feet with a seating capacity of 900. Superintendent Graham said the center could be built on the former practice field and would be raised four feet in elevation to avoid any flooding issues. The center’s parking area would also be used for baseball games at Wilson Park. Another possible option would be to construct the facility next to Scrapper Arena.
