Nashville Scrappers and Scrapperettes Secure Wins Over Camden in Conference Action

On Friday, February 23rd, 2025, the Nashville Scrappers and Scrapperettes traveled to Camden for another intense conference matchup against the Cardinals and Lady Cardinals. Both teams left the court victorious after strong performances.

In the girls’ game, the Scrapperettes came out strong, finishing the first quarter with an 11-7 lead. They expanded their advantage by halftime, leading 33-18. After the break, Nashville’s defense and offense continued to shine as they surged ahead with a 24-point lead. The Scrapperettes outscored the Lady Cardinals 58 to 24 in the second half, dominating throughout and securing a 62-34 win.

Senior Mercy Hagler was the standout player of the game, recording a double-double with 10 points, 10 rebounds, and 6 assists. The victory improved the Scrapperettes’ overall record to 22-7 and their conference record to 9-1.

In boys’ action, the Scrappers faced a tough battle against the Cardinals. The game was a back-and-forth contest, but Nashville pulled away in the final moments to win 65-59. Top scorers for the game was junior Demetrus Shelley with 21 points and sophomore Bo Bell with 17 points. With the win, the Scrappers are now 15-6 overall and 7-3 in the conference.

Both teams are now preparing for regional play in Monticello this week. The Scrapperettes are scheduled to play tomorrow at 4:00 PM, followed by the boys’ game on Thursday at 5:30 PM.
