Texarkana Woman Arrested on Drug Charges Following Traffic Stop in Howard County

A traffic stop on February 4th, 2025, led to the arrest of a woman on drug-related charges.

According to the affidavit, at approximately 2:00 p.m., Nashville Patrol Officer David Shelby observed a black Jeep Patriot speeding southbound on South 4th Street. The vehicle was traveling at 41 mph in a 30-mph zone. Officer Shelby initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle, and upon approaching the driver, he identified her as 23-year-old Za Nocia Rae Shun Antwine of Texarkana, Arkansas.

As Officer Shelby spoke with Antwine, he detected the smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle. A check of her driver’s license revealed an outstanding warrant for her arrest from Clark County. Officer Shelby then asked for consent to search the vehicle, which Antwine granted verbally.

During the search, Officer Shelby reportedly discovered a small amount of suspected marijuana inside a purse that Antwine admitted was hers. Investigator Mark Barnes was called to assist with the investigation, and upon arrival, he located a multi-colored eyeglass container on the front passenger seat. Inside the container, a portion of plastic was found holding a white rock-like substance, believed to be crack cocaine.

Antwine was arrested and transported to the Howard County Detention Facility.

Antwine now faces multiple charges, including possession of a controlled substance, and will be held pending further proceedings.
