Scrapper baseball coach speaks to Rotary Club

Scrapper Baseball Coach Kyle Slayton was the guest speaker at Wednesday’s meeting of the Nashville Rotary Club. So far this season, Nashville is 9 and 2, with a conference record of 1 and 1. Offensively, Nashville has scored double digit runs in 7 of their 11 games this year and currently has a team batting average of 380. Pitching wise, the Scrapper staff is allowing just two earned runs per game.

Slayton told Rotarians that Nashville doesn’t want to settle for district or regional championships. A state championship is the goal each season:

Nashville plays a non-conference game this afternoon against Horatio at Wilson Park. First pitch is scheduled for 5:30 today and B99.5 will have the broadcast.
Also this afternoon, the Scrapperette softball team is taking a break from conference play, but plays a significantly larger school, the Benton Lady Panthers. KNAS 105.5 FM will have the softball game broadcast.
