New Bridge Open to Traffic

When school traffic resumes Monday, motorists will have a new bridge to cross with a slightly different path near the primary school. City officials have been paving the bridge approach & the adjoining street at 8th and Pope Streets the past few days. Crews placed new signs yesterday afternoon at the intersection, which signaled the new bridge being open to traffic.
Progress is also being made on another bridge project in Nashville. Four beams, each 80 feet in length, needed for the base of the Howard Street bridge were delivered Wednesday. The bridge has been closed since early 2019 after being determined to be unsafe for traffic.
