NHS holds Signing Ceremony
Thursday the Nashville School District held a signing ceremony for three students. All three students signed to Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia, Emily Bailey who will be majoring in Sports Medicine, Jett Stephenson who will be majoring in Political Sciences, and Caleb Cook who was awarded a $16,000 dollar scholarship for four years.
Today we will highlight Senior Caleb Cook who is also a part of the Nashville High School Band. NHS Band Director Cody Ford had the opportunity to share his thoughts about Cook. Ford said that it is always a joy to teach, and it is even more of a joy to see his students go on and do things after and use the skills and knowledge that they detained in their time with him and use it to make a real impact.
Cook took a moment to talk about what this moment meant to him, and he gave a special thanks to family, friends, along with his band directors that supported him down through the years.
Athletic Director Bunch Nichols closed out the ceremony by presenting each senior with a Scrapper case that says, “Once a Scrapper!” and a pen that had Always a Scrapper engraved on it. Nichols told them to take those pens and put them up on a shelf. Nichols said quote, “but whatever you do, don’t ever forget where you come from!”
Tomorrow we will highlight Jett Stephenson.
