Mineral Springs City Council

The Mineral Springs City Council met last night discussing a number of items. Discussion concerning the animal control contract with the city became a debated topic as council members decided how to fund an increase in the service provided by Nashville Animal Control. This increase comes in part by inflation and the associated cost of goods and materials needed for the business and amounts to an increase of just under $3,000 per year. Ultimately the council members voted unanimously to increase the Animal Control tax by $1 per billing cycle bringing the total to $2.50/month.

In further business and in accordance with state law the ward boundaries for the city were updated to reflect the current population distribution among the city.

Lastly, the need was found to amend the budget for the 2021 year. The city set forth a budget of $355,490 for the 2021 year and found itself over that mark by a sum of $136,867. This overage was amended via council vote in unanimous fashion
