One vehicle accident in Howard County leads to drug arrest

On June 19th, Howard County Deputy Aaron Quick responded to a one vehicle accident on Hwy 371. The driver, who was identified as 29-year-old Andrew C Couch of Nashville, who was transported by ambulance to the Howard Memorial Hospital. 

According to the affidavit, hospital staff informed Deputy Quick that Couch had a pipe in his possession and that there was methamphetamine in a cigarette package on the bed in his room. It was reported that while Deputies were speaking with Couch, Couch handed deputies a glove that contained a glass smoking pipe and Couch also informed deputies that the cigarette package was thrown in the trash by the hospital staff. 

As reported, deputies retrieved the cigarette package from the trash can that had a clear plastic bag that contained a crystal rock like substance that was believed to be methamphetamine. Couch was arrested and transported to the Howard County Detention Facility and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
