Online survey concerning feral hogs
Feral hogs are a major problem for the agriculture industry of southwest Arkansas. Pike County Extension Agent Terrell Davis says the University of Arkansas Department of Animal Sciences has created an online survey to help determine where the most extensive issues pertaining to feral hogs are located:
Davis said feral hogs are rapid reproducers, with females beginning to breed at 4 months of age. They can have up to 3 litters per year, producing up to a dozen piglets Estimates are that 75 percent of the feral hog population has to be eliminated each year, just to maintain populations at their current levels.
