Boat Captains of the Nashville Fishing Team speaks at Rotary

Wednesday afternoon, members and boat captains of the Nashville Fishing Team spoke to the members of the Nashville Rotary Club.

Michael Howard and Jerry Wilson are boat captains and they navigate the boats that junior high and senior high fishing team members compete on during fishing tournaments. Howard said they have traveled to tournaments in Texas and Louisiana, as well as lakes throughout the state.

Howard said the Nashville Fishing Team has had up to 16 anglers. They have won six tournaments over the last two years and one Angler of the Year.

Howard also mentioned the different fishing tours that the teams compete in, while trying to win a state title and qualify for nationals.

Howard mentioned there were scholarship opportunities for team members.

After Howard discussed the fishing team, he let team members Halton Howard and Garrett Westfall share some fish tales.
