Peach crop forecast: bleak
The news for the area’s peach crop may not be good. Jamison Orchard, located outside of Nashville, is reporting the extremely cold temperatures last month have likely wiped out their crop for this year. Orchard owner Lou Jamison said several of the tree limbs were killed by the temperatures in February that included an all time record low in Nashville of 14 degrees below zero. While the trees produced several buds, they were froze and have fallen from the trees.
Jamison said it’s likely most fruit trees or bushes will be without their produce this year.
