Superintendent Doug Graham informed the board that there were no findings in the 2023 School Audit. Graham stated that as a superintendent the first thing that he looks at are the things that have to be fixed from the prior year and what needs to be corrected.

Graham presented bids for the Elementary Serving Line. The one he recommended was from Ace Mart in the amount of $216,233.45. The board approved a motion to accept the bid from Ace Mart for $216,233.45. Graham also presented floor proposals from Boom Boom Floor Shine in the amount of $105,000 dollars and $95,590 dollars. Graham recommended the lower bid for $95,590 because they would have the option to have the floors cleaned throughout the course of the school year compared to just having the floors done during the summer.  The board approved a motion to accept Graham’s recommendation to go with the lower bid from Boom Boom Floor Shine in the amount of $95,590 dollars.

Testing Coordinator Kim Slayton discussed the 2024-2025 Testing Schedule.

In conclusion, Graham stated that he will be referring the Hybrid Calendar back to PPC for one minor consideration by possibly changing the start date of school from July 25th to July 29th which will be discussed at the next meeting.

Graham even took a moment to make a comment concerning the special called meeting that took place last Thursday, March 21st. Although the board wasn’t able to take any action on the issues that were addressed at the special meeting, Graham said the board will consider everything that was said along with considering the information that was provided and do a little research. Graham went on to say that the things that were addressed are not things that cannot be fixed. He concluded by saying that they are in the business of still trying to do better and get better.
