Pike County 4-H Holds Annual Banquet
Friday, December 13, the Pike County Cooperative Extension held their annual 4-H banquet to recognize the accomplishments of the Pike County 4-H members.
Pike County Extension Staff Chair, Terrell Davis explained the the best thing about participating in 4-H.
Davis also mentioned several activities that 4-H members participant in year-round
Members of the Pike County 4-H program were recognized for their accomplishments in Recordbooks, the Dairy Foods contest, the BBQ Chicken and Turkey contest, for attending 4-H at the Capital, participating in the Ross Photography contest, County, District and State O’Rama events, County Fair Educational Booths, Arts and Crafts Exhibits and Livestock exhibitors.
Nine Cloverbuds received recognition including: Carsyn Ballard, Jaydyn Chambers, Hunter Heaston, Isabella Heaston, Guy Cooper Kroll, Dally Minton, Trace Minton, Joshua Myrkle and Thomas Applegate.
Cloverbuds are 4-H members between the ages of 5-8.
Thirty-six Junior 4-H members received recognition including: Aiden Abbott, Holden Allmon, Cayden Ballard, Tayton Barnett, Alex Bonner, Peyton Chambers, Gracie Davis, Thomas Davis, Ava Deaton, Drew Diggs, Garrett Driver, Tyler Ellis, Jackson Fatheree, Lauren Fortner, Kelyn Gilmer, Asher Glasspool, Jacey Heaston, Rhett Hellums, Cale Humphry, Caleb Humphry, Adyson James, Michael Newsome, Evelyn Nolen, Brayden Oakley, Carson Oakley, Jackson Pannell, Kassidy Pannell, Lucas Rucker, Addison Scott, Tyler Simmons, Shawn Stangler, Timothy Strangler, Gracen White, Mason Wilkins, Autumn Whitten and Zechariah Applegate.
Junior 4-H members are 9-15 years of age.
Twelve Senior 4-H members received recognition including: Morgan Bonner, Kyleigh Chambers, Natalie Driver, Malaya Graham, Kara Hambercamp, Andy Jackson, Bell Kesterson, Wilson Kesterson, Justin Pannell, Megan Rowton, Lauren Rudolf and Alex Vaughn.
This year’s State O’Rama participants included Andy Jackson who competed in the new State Level Archery competition. Bell Kesterson competed in the Human Development competition. Kesterson placed second at District and second at State. Justin Pannell competed in the vocal competition at state after placing third at the District level. And Malaya Graham competed in the Purchased Fashion Review competition. Graham placed first at the State O’Rama and will represent Arkansas at the National Roundup in Denver, Colorado.
At the conclusion of the banquet, Davis presented Murfreesboro Diamond Editor, PJ Tracy with a “Friend of 4-H” Award.
