Pike County Court

Pike County Court saw 28 year old Curtis Lee Potter of Nashville. Potter faces the following 3 felony charges: 1st Criminal use of Prohibited weapon, 2nd sexually grooming a child being under the age of 14, and 3rd rape. Facts constituting reasonable cause are as follows:

During an interview conducted by an employee at the Child Advocacy Center in Nashville it was disclosed that after attending an event around halloween that Potter was driving her home, but stopped on a dead end backroad, and from there she was allegedly raped.

During the investigation messages from Potter to the minor were handed over via cell phone to authorities which were sexually explicit in nature. The CAC alongside law enforcement responded to the last known address of Potter due to other children residing in the home.

Upon entering the residence law enforcement made contact with Rozanna Potter who indicated that Curtis was out back. After stepping outside officers found Potter attempting to load a shell into a sawed-off shotgun. With guns drawn officers gave commands for Potter to drop his weapon. After several commands Potter complied and was taken into custody.

During an interview with Potter conducted by Investigator Jason McDonald Potter admitted to the sexual act however claimed it was consensual.

Potter is currently being held in the Pike County Detention center on a $150,000 bond and has a pre-trial hearing date of February 25th and a Jury Trial date set for March 17th.
