Pike County Hosts Suicide Awareness and Prevention Event
The Pike County Hometown Health Coalition, in partnership with the Pike County Extension Office, is set to host an important Suicide Awareness and Prevention event today. The initiative aims to shed light on critical issues surrounding suicide and equip the community with essential knowledge and tools to address this pressing concern.
Eva Langley, Staff Chair of the Pike County Extension Office, shared more details about the event’s schedule and location.
The event will feature a series of informative sessions led by expert speakers who will cover a range of topics including the suicide crisis hotline, common myths and facts about suicide, warning signs, and healthy coping mechanisms. Additionally, attendees will learn practical strategies for making a positive impact in preventing suicide.
In an effort to cater to all community members, a separate session will be offered for students during the adult session, ensuring that both groups receive tailored information relevant to their needs.
