Nashville Junior High FCCLA Wins State Competition

Nashville Junior High School’s FCCLA members have won their 24th state competition in 27 years. The local group was among 112 chapters across the state to take part in the STAR events competition held last week in Hot Springs.

During the competition, students are recognized for proficiency and achievement in chapter and individual projects, leadership skills and career preparation.

Nashville’s Daleigh Morris and Corbin Mason received a gold medal and placed first in state competition advancing to national competition to be held this summer in Washington D.C.

Fund raisers will be taking place over the next few months to help students generate the 15 hundred dollar per person cost to attend the nationals.

Group adviser Tammy Elliot said the public is invited to make donations to the students.
