Rotarians invited to volunteer as CASA advocate
This week, Nashville Rotarians heard from Pink Trammel who is a volunteer coordinator for CASA in Southwest Arkansas.
Trammel has been involved with the CASA organization for the past 11 years. He started as an advocate.
Trammel reported three out of 10 children are abused. He said 90 percent of felons were abused as a child and 4,000 children die every year from abuse.
Trammel said CASA volunteers help rebuild children who have been abused or neglected. He said they use their eyes, ears and hearts. Trammel stated kids are more successful when a CASA volunteer gets assigned to their case.
Trammel said you can learn more about CASA and how you can make a difference by attending a ZOOM meeting on Monday’s at noon or 5:30 pm.
