Rotary Club

Rotary Club met Wednesday afternoon with the Howard County Historical Society presenting. Freddie Horne, spoke of the many projects that the Historical Society has worked on over the past few years and what all it takes to make these projects come to fruition. The Howard County Historical Society runs on donations, sponsorships, and state and federal grants received to help restore and upkeep some of Howard Counties most historical artifacts.

Here within the Nashville City limits is our very own piece of history in the E.A. Williams Chapel and Museum built in 1912. This once Presbyterian church has since been restored to an early era fashion and now hosts décor of Howard County history in the form of Indian artifacts, dinosaur bones found in this area, memorabilia reminiscent of Dillard’s first Department store, the 1911 Coca-Cola Plant, and more. Horne said they are always looking for volunteers for restoration projects to help keep Howard Counties rich heritage in view of today’s generation.
