Rotary speaker talks about renovations at the Texarkana Airport
Last week, Tyler Brown the Real Estate Manager of the Texarkana Airport spoke to the Nashville Rotary Club.
Brown discussed what all the Texarkana Airport encompasses, including the runways, terminal and fire department.
Brown said the airport is currently expanding the terminal. He said it should be completed by the summer of 2024.
Brown said the airport will be holding public meeting in the near future to help develop a 2 to 3 year Master Plan.
Part of that new Master Plan could include extending the currently runway to accommodate cargo freight planes, like FedEx Air.
Currently, American Airlines is the only airline services Texarkana Airport with nonstop flights to Dallas, however, United served the area earlier this year, but stopped due to a lack of passengers. Brown said if more people will use the Texarkana Airport, then United plans to return along with Allegint Airlines with service to Orlando or Vegas.
Brown also stated there is a real need for more commercial pilots and air traffic controllers.
Stacia Petty’s group will be singing for the Nashville Rotary Club on Wednesday, December 14.
