Sales Tax Increases During August

Sales tax for the city of Nashville increased by four percent during the month of August. Information provided by the city treasurer’s office says the tax increased by just under $5,000 over 2018.

The county sales tax increased by about 3 and a half percent in Howard County.

The sales tax rebounded in both the city and county after seeing a decrease in July. Officials say flood repairs may have contributed to the increase.
