Scrapperette basketball season comes to end; Outlaws move on in 2A state tournament

Howard County teams went one for two in Wednesday’s state basketball tournament games. The Nashville Scrapperettes held a two point halftime lead in their first round game against Pea Ridge in the 4A tournament, but were outscored by 7 points in the second half, losing by a score of 42 to 37. Nashville had an extremely successful season, but ended the year by three consecutive games & four of their last five contests.
The county’s other team playing yesterday was the Dierks Outlaws. They trailed against Acorn at the end of the first half, but came back to claim a 48 to 45 win. Dierks will play again Friday at one p.m. against White County Central in the 2A tournament’s quarterfinal round.
