Scrappers fall to 5A South Magnolia Panthers 35-27

The Scrappers took an early lead in their season opener Friday night against the Magnolia Panthers but fell 35-27.

Nashville scored early in the first quarter, but Magnolia scored on back-to-back possessions to take a 14-7 lead after the first quarter. The Panthers would extend their lead to 21-7 in the second quarter, but the Scrappers would cut the lead to 8 late in the half.

Nashville would come out in the second half and pull within one-point, but the Panthers would score early in the fourth quarter to extend the lead to 8 for the final score of 35-27.

Nashville will travel to Hope this Friday night and play the Bobcats in a non-conference match-up. Kick-off is scheduled for 7:30 pm.
