Scrappers win over Hope Bobcats
Friday night, the Nashville Scrappers earned their first win of the season with a 24-21 victory over the Hope Bobcats.
Nashville scored first on a touchdown catch by Khaleel Canaday. Here’s the call from Bunch Nichols on B 99.5.
Nashville would add a defensive score less than two minutes later to lead 14-0 after the first quarter.
Hope would cut the lead to seven after scoring earlier in the second quarter, but Nashville extended their lead to 10 on a field goal in the third.
Hope would pull back to within three, but the Scrappers scored late in the fourth quarter on a run by Kason Morgan. Here’s Nichols describing the play on the radio.
Hope would score another touchdown in the closing seconds, but Nashville held on for the win.
Nashville rushed for over 220 yards and Kason Chambers passed for 133 yards and 1 touchdown.
Nashville will travel to De Queen this Friday night for a non-conference game against the Leopards. Kickoff is set for 7:30.
