SPCSD re-hires certified staff
The South Pike County School Board held a special called meeting on Thursday, March 3 and then decided to conduct the business of their regular March meeting instead of meeting again on Tuesday, March 8.
The reason for the special called meeting was to conduct an expulsion hearing for a student. Superintendent Brad Sullivan recommended the student be expelled for the remainder of the 2021-2022 school year. The board approved Sullivan’s recommendation unanimously.
Board members then voted to modify a recommendation from Sullivan concerning the suspension of another student. The board voted to add an additional five days to the students 10-day suspension.
Following an executive session, board members voted to accept the resignations of Murfreesboro Elementary teachers, Regina Huskey and Tamara Hankins.
They also approved the 2022-2023 salary schedule and they voted to re-hire the certified staff.
