Special Judge to be appointed for local sexual assault case

A special judge will have to be appointed to hear a sexual assault case in Howard County. 77 year old John Krieger of Nashville was arrested and charged in 2019 with Second Degree Sexual Assault. 9th West Circuit judges Bryan Chesshir and Tom Cooper have both recused themselves, due to connections to the case. A request has been submitted to the Chief Justice of the Arkansas Supreme Court, who will name the special judge. The case is to be heard February 24th.
Krieger is accused of having sexual contact with someone under the age of 14 on Valentine’s Day of 2019.
