Stole car from Wal-Mart in Nashville recovered in Benton County

A stolen vehicle from the Wal-Mart parking lot Friday afternoon in Nashville has resulted in the arrest of a northwest Arkansas man on various charges. Police said store security video showed a silver Lincoln dropping off an unknown male at the front entrance to the store shortly after 3 p.m. Soon afterwards, that same person was seen getting into a 1997 Honda Civic and driving away. During the investigation, local officers were able to locate the Lincoln in Mineral Springs and questioned the occupants. Authorities said those individuals told police the suspect was 32 year old Patrick Smith, of Rogers, Arkansas. Police in Rogers located the vehicle Saturday at Smith’s home, and when they approached the vehicle, Smith was discovered asleep in the driver’s seat. Police say he was also found to be in possession of more than 30 grams of suspected methamphetamine and various drug paraphernalia.
Smith was arrested and transported to the Benton County Jail, where he is awaiting his first court appearance. The vehicle has been returned to its owner.
