The Days Just Keep Getting Shorter
They say the days go by slow and the years go by fast. I can attest to that having kiddos myself but in case you haven’t noticed lately…The days are actually going by faster and faster with each passing day. In fact, on average we are losing just over 1 minute of daylight per day here in the month of August. Since the summer solstice on June 20th we’ve lost approximately 39 minutes of daylight. In the month of August we are set to lose 55 minutes of daylight when comparing the 1st day of the month to the last. Come December 21st or, Winter Solstice, expected daylight time will be down to 9 hours and 56 minutes. Which is 4 hours and 27 minutes of less daylight than during the summer solstice. Sunset time for Nashville and the surrounding area tonight is at 8:14pm with last light being at 8:40.
