Three students expelled during Dierks School Board meeting

The Dierks School Board conducted three expulsion hearings Monday night. Two of the students were expelled for 12-months. The third student can return at the beginning of the 2022-2023 school year.

High school principal Gene Strode stated one of the male students admitted to him that he had told other students to wear yellow because it was the TikTok ‘safe’ color.

The student also allegedly threatened to shoot teachers.

Superintendent Jody Cowart reported the district’s operating budget balance was down from the previous year, but so was the district’s revenue and expenses.
