Traffic Stop in Nashville Uncovers Meth and Marijuana
A routine sobriety checkpoint in Nashville led to multiple arrests and drug-related charges last week.
According to the affidavit, that on April 16th, officers from Nashville PD and the Arkansas State Police were conducting a sobriety checkpoint at Gaines Street and Golf Links Road when a red Ford Ranger approached from the west, stopped in the road, and then attempted to back away from the scene.
Officers pursued the vehicle to Julia Circle, where Trooper Micah Brown conducted a traffic stop with assistance from Nashville Officers Jarrett Rogers and Rebecca Castleman.
Trooper Brown reported seeing the passenger throw an object out of the window. That passenger was identified as Justice Hall, who was then taken into custody. The object was recovered and identified as a glass pipe with white residue, believed to be methamphetamine.
The driver, 50 year old Steven Hall of Nashville, admitted ownership of the pipe and stated he had instructed Justice to throw it from the vehicle. He also told officers about a marijuana cigarette hidden in a cigarette pack inside the truck.
During a search of the vehicle, officers located three suspected marijuana cigarettes—one hidden as described—and a plastic bag containing a crystal-like substance, also believed to be meth. This bag was found inside a bed rail hole in the truck bed.
Bodycam video confirmed Steven placing an object in that bed rail hole as he exited the vehicle. Hall later admitted to officers that all the items found were his.
Hall was charged with possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance.
