Traffic stop leads to arrest of two people for drug related charges

Two people were arrested last month as the result of a traffic stop made by Howard County Sheriff’s deputies.  A vehicle driven by 48 year old Samantha Keeney of Murfreesboro was reportedly seen crossing the center line and failing to use a turn signal.  Deputy Trent Coffman checked Keeney’s driver’s license and learned she had an arrest warrant active from Howard County.  Keeney gave deputies permission to search the vehicle, and while doing so, Deputy Colt Kuykendall found a black plastic case under the vehicle’s passenger seat.  Inside the case, deputies say they found a clear plastic bag that contained a crystal rock like substance, believed to be methamphetamine.  In addition to Keeney, a passenger in the vehicle, identified as 55 year old Timothy Ray, of Hot Springs, was also arrested.  Keeney and Ray were arrested and transported to the Howard County Detention Facility.  They are each facing a felony charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Meth Cocaine.
