Hot Springs man arrested for drug possession

On May 11th, Investigator Turner Reed was patrolling on Hwy 70 and noticed a vehicle driving left of center two different times. According to the affidavit, Reed conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. The driver was identified as 74-year-old Leonard Ellis Magby of Hot Springs. Howard County dispatch informed Turner that Magby had a search waiver on file. Turner then reportedly searched Magby’s vehicle and located a small clear baggie containing a clear crystal-like substance in a small compartment next to the steering wheel. Turner field tested this substance, and it tested positive for methamphetamine. Magby was placed into custody and transported to the Howard County Jail and was charged with possession of a controlled substance.
