Ty Gordon – Rotary MVP

Saturday night, the Nashville Rotary Club hosted the 2020 Nashville High School Football Banquet.

Players, coaches, senior parents, cheerleaders and homecoming royalty gathered to celebrate the 2020 season. Coach Mike Volarvich reported the Scrappers finished this season 9-3 and conference champs and they advanced to the quarterfinals of the 4A state tournament. He stated the senior class had an overall record of 30-8 and were 18-3 at home.

The coaches awards were presented.

Defensive Back coach, Brian Bearden presented awards to Mac Green, Quincey Garland and LD Hendrix. And, Will Pope was named Defensive Back of the Year.

Wide Receiver coach, Jimi Easterling presented awards to Nick Mathany, Caiden Erwin, DeVay Ragland and Dontrelle Robinson was named Wide Receiver of the Year.

Coach Wade Matlock presented the Offensive Linemen awards. Awards were presented to Auston Combs, Landon Tollett, Hayden Clay and the Offensive Lineman of the Year, Dalton Brown.

Coach Boomer Brown presented the Defensive Linemen awards. They went to Garrett Dixon, Deandra Benson, Jerry Hernandez, Slade Furr, Desmond Bailey and the Defensive Lineman of the Year went to Michael Hendrix.

Coach Volarvich presented Ty Gordon and Keyshawn Stewart with the Offensive Backs awards.
