Wilcher hired as next superintendent of the South Pike County School District
A new Superintendent has been selected for the South Pike County School District. Tanya Wilcher, a district employee of more than 20 years, has been hired to fill the position being vacated by the retirement of Brad Sullivan. He says Wilcher’s hiring means the district will be in good hands:
She was the valedictorian of the 1990 Murfreesboro senior class. Wilcher earned her bachelor and masters degrees from Henderson State University & a doctors degree from the University of Arkansas Little Rock.
As Superintendent, Wilcher says one goal is to get students exposed more to the workforce, with job shadowing being a possibility for the future:
Wilcher says she’s excited for the opportunity of having five months with Sullivan before he retires:
Her employment as superintendent came on a 7 to nothing vote from the school board.
