XC Coach speaks to Rotary; meeting attended by NHS Homecoming Court

Wednesday afternoon, the 2022 Nashville High School Homecoming Queen Kyleigh Scoggins and her court attended the weekly meeting of the Nashville Rotary Club.

Scoggins, Maid of Honor Lauren Carver, Football Maids Makenzie Graham, Sophie Kuykendall, Lamia Madora, Perla Rios and Anna Kate Sartin and Class Maids Reagan Cooley, Georgia Longtin, Journey Pope, Maritsa Rosas and Meishela Williams were the guest of Rotarian and superintendent of the Nashville School District, Doug Graham.

Cross Country coach, Jerrad Jones was the guest speaker and he mentioned why spring sport athletes should participate in cross country during the fall.

Jones said 327 runners participated in the recent Scrapper Invitational at the Nashville City Park. He said those runners represented 17 school and about a thousand spectators attended the event. Jones said the event also served as the Jr. High District meet, which the Jr. Scrappers finished in 3rd place.

Next week, the Scrapper cross country team will run in the Lake Hamilton Invitational in Hot Springs, followed by the district meet in Texarkana and the state meet in Hot Springs at Oaklawn.
