Fayetteville man arrested following abduction call

One person was arrested Friday after a possible abduction reportedly took place at Nashville’s Wal-Mart. Police Chief Amy Marion said 40 year old Dustin
Dewberry of Fayetteville, Arkansas was arrested. He is being held for First Degree False Imprisonment and Third Degree Domestic Battery. Around 7:35 Friday morning, dispatchers at the Howard County Jail received the possible abduction call. The person making the report said she saw a woman trying to get out of the passenger side of a Ford car and heard the woman screaming for help. The caller also said a white male, later identified as Dewberry, grabbed the victim and pulled her back into the vehicle, which then sped away on Highway 27 South toward Mineral Springs.
Officers with the Nashville Police Department and Howard County Sheriff’s Department were able to catch up with the suspect’s vehicle just south of Mineral Springs, and placed Dewberry under arrest.
Police said the victim, identified as 39 year old Jessica Lovelis, of Richardson, Texas, had visible minor injuries caused from the altercation.
Chief Marion said officers determined through their investigation that Dewberry and Richardson were not married, but have been living together the past ten years in their vehicle.
