Weekend Boating Accident Results In Injuries

Several members of a Nashville family were injured in a boating accident Saturday afternoon on Lake Greeson.

According to Corporal Keith Teague of the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, a cabin cruiser boat fueled up at Kirby Landing around 1:15 Saturday afternoon. Officers say the boat was owned and operated by Brian Aylett of Nashville. When Aylett attempted to start the engine, authorities say a flash fire explosion occurred.

Eight people were onboard. At least five individuals, including some minor age childen, were injured. One person was transported from Kirby by helicopter and another was taken to a hospital by ambulance. The remaining injured were transported by private vehicle. All the injured are being treated at Little Rock.

Corporal Teague said Aylett had owned the boat just a couple days before the accident.

The incident remains under investigation by the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission.
