Nashville School Board Accepts Personnel Changes

The Nashville school board has accepted the resignations of four district employees.

The resignations included junior high teacher Tammy Elliot who has been employed with the local district 35 years. Elliot served as the school’s Family and Consumer Science teacher.

Other resignations accepted by the board at their Monday night meeting included Phillip Miller as Scrapperette softball coach and teacher, Courtney Hampton as the custodian at Nashville Elementary School and bus driver Ashley Sweeden.

Based on a recommendation from superintendent Doug Graham, the board voted to employ Lucas Liggin as social studies teacher and junior high coach. Kaylee Hamilton was also hired as an elementary school teacher.

Superintendent Graham announced the district’s coaching assignments have been made for the upcoming school year. Graham said the softball program will have two new coaches for next season. Lucas Liggin will serve as an assistant coach while Brian “Boomer” Brown will be the head softball coach.
