Howard County Auction

Commissioner of State Lands, Tommy Land, has announced that an auction will take place for tax-delinquent land in Howard County. This auction will be on Wednesday, September 22, at 2pm and will be held at the Carter Day Training Center here in Nashville. Registration will begin at 1:30pm.

Land said, since no public auction took place in 2020 due to the pandemic that properties scheduled for sale last year will be on the docket for this year’s auction. These are properties whose taxes have been delinquent since 2015. Next year, during the 2022 auction season, there will be two years’ worth of properties available so as to play catch up and be current on all sales. Prospective bidders can find online resources concerning buying, statutes governing sales, as well as a complete listing of parcels available at COSL.org. Bidding for these parcels will open at the amount of taxes, penalties and interest due. And registration for bidders is free.

Properties that do not sell at auction will appear on the Commissioner of State Lands website 30 days after the auction date from which they may be bid on via online auction system.
