Delight man arrested for violation of order of protection

On May 29th at approximately 6:48pm, Pike County Deputies were dispatched to a residence in reference to someone being at a residence and the person had moved the security camera.

According to the affidavit, as deputies started checking the property, they found a blue Chevy Tahoe occupied with one female identified as Alexandria Greer behind a shed who is the wife of 33 year old James Daniel Smillie of Delight. It was reported that deputies could hear someone in the residence so they contacted the homeowner, Rachel Smillie to receive permission to make entry in the home. Deputies along with K9 Dugo entered the residence looking for Smillie.

As reported, Deputies then checked the attic and heard someone rustling around and gave commands to come out with no response. Smillie broke the exterior attic cover to come out of the attic. After Smillie came down from the attic, he was placed into custody. Deputies learned that Rachel Smillie was James Smillie’s ex-wife who had an order of protection against him, and she has been having numerous problems with him. Smillie was charged with Residential Burglary, Violation of Order of Protection, and Criminal Mischief.  Greer was charged with residential burglary as well.
