Pike County Quorum Court purchases air purification system

The Pike County Quorum Court has voted to spend approximately $20,000 for an air purification system within the jail. At Tuesday’s quorum court meeting, Sheriff Travis Hill informed j.p.’s of a Covid-19 outbreak within the jail inmate population. The system will help limit the air exchange from cell to cell and includes five portable unites that can be moved to other departments if needed. It will also feature two monitoring stations…with one being monitored by an outside company who will advise on adjustments needed to keep the air quality at the best possible level. Funds to purchase the system will come from the county’s share of American Rescue Plan money.
